Travolta Shaves Head, Goes for Bald Look
It appears as though John Travolta has shaved his head and left only a beard, ditching the popular wavy hair that made him popular in movies such as Pulp Fiction. This according to tmz.com.
I must admit, it's kind of hard to picture Travolta as a bald guy, because this was a case of the hair pretty much making the man, or at least the image that Hollywood had projected of him.
Usually when an aging Hollywood star switches up their style due to aging and mostly out of necessity, it signals the beginning of a new era for them.
Now, the way people look at Travolta has changed, assuming he keeps the bald look. His career can go one of two ways: either he can continue on and diversify his roles to take on more elder-type characters (often bad guys), or he can become kind of an afterthought and end up missing out on the type of starring roles he usually received. The choice is his. I think Travolta is a good enough actor to transition to the next phase of his career with ease.
Danny DeVito Mistaken for Small Child by Michael Douglas
Can we really blame Douglas for this story, which was reported on tmz.com? DeVito is flat-out tiny, and that's being generous. I feel bad for DeVito at times but he has made the most of out of his career because of that oh-so-distinctive voice and amazing sense of humor.
Catch him on "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," the comedy that restored my faith in TV comedies on Thursday nights on FX, and you'll find out just what a remarkable and versatile actor DeVito is, even at his minuscule height which is generously listed at 5-feet tall. He provides some excellent comic relief as the owner of a bar who is constantly getting into ridiculous, almost Seinfeld-esque situations.
He is particularly great as a voice-over specialist in cartoon full-length feature movies such as Disney's Hercules and he is the type of actor who will probably always be able to find work because he is so unique and so captivating when he appears on screen despite his size.
Luckily, DeVito seems like the kind of guy who can laugh such a mistake off and move on.
Paris Hilton in "Search Me" Line at LA Airport
I really hate to mention Hilton unless I absolutely have to but this is story, mentioned on tmz.com, will make the legions of Hilton-haters (or at least people who are tired of seeing her all over the place for no apparent reason) pretty happy.
Hilton forgot to bring her picture ID with her LAX and was forced to enter the "search me" line just like anyone else.
Hilton deserves to be treated the same way as everyone else and this is a small victory for people who have always lamented the fact that celebrities get special treatment.
I can just picture her throwing a fit in line and texting/calling just about anyone she can get ahold of to get her through security without having to bring I.D. Her attitude is something that no one's daughter should ever emulate.
I would like to mention, however, that Hilton should be commended for her various charity efforts and she does appear to be maturing a little bit from what we've all seen and heard. But she still has a long way to go.
Hey, if I was that rich, I'd be spoiled just as badly, maybe even worse.
